ON BEING

Girls Who Code: SISTERHOOD Digital Visual Album
Poet / Voice / Contributor
On Being is a poetic short film featured in SISTERHOOD, a digital visual album by Girls Who Code that celebrates the power of girlhood, identity, and community. Though I wasn’t on the creative team, I was asked to contribute something personal to the project. I wrote a poem—honest, intimate, and rooted in my experience as an Indigenous woman navigating the tech world. That poem became the heart of my segment, brought to life through the beautiful animation of Lynn Yunn and the bold illustrations of Ashley Lukashevsky.

The film weaves together interviews and reflections from a powerful group of women and girls. It debuted as part of the larger SISTERHOOD campaign on International Day of the Girl and encouraged audiences to raise their hands—and their voices—for the causes that matter most.

I was proud to be recognized in Billboard Magazine for this work, alongside other change-makers, artists, and technologists. This wasn’t just a campaign, it was a moment of shared truth, sisterhood, and story.
